Jérôme David

Multiple World Champion

Jérôme is National Deputy Director of the French Parachuting Federation. During his outdoor career in Formation Skydiving, he has been a two-time FAI World Champion as a competitor and seven times as a coach. At the 2010 FAI World Championships, Jérôme has made a grand slam: three gold medals with his three teams (4-Way Open; 4-Way Women, 8-Way).


In 2016, Jérôme has obtained the support of the Erasmus program of the European Union to organize the 1st HandiFly Euro Challenge in Lille France. The HandiFly project offers the opportunity to discover and to compete in skydiving to motor-disabled. Jérôme has also promoted the concept to an international HandiFly community with the successful perpetuation of the challenge in 2017 (Belarus), 2018 (Russia) and 2019 (Portugal).


This worldwide project, which also covers parascending and indoor flights, was awarded “Success Story” by the European Union and also finalist of the 2019 #Beinclusive awards of Erasmus


“When you can’t walk, you can still fly” is the strong message behind HandiFly. On 21 November 2019, the HandiFly Euro Challenge was selected among the nine nominees (from a total of 144 projects submitted) for the European Union's #BeInclusive Sports Awards.


In 2020, the French Parachuting Federation will conduct a new Erasmus mass development program focused on Indoor HandiFly. The 1st Indoor HandiFly Euro Challenge is scheduled from 4 to 7 March in 2021.
